VanScott is a high energy, hard melodic rock band. VanScott's original songs are a melodic and emotional journey taken from the life of VanScott's front man, Jamie VanScott.
The lyrics for the songs are inspired by a variety of issues ranging from a life of drugs and one night stands to themes of hope, despair, and love. Jamie VanScott has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with such acts as Nickelback, Finger 11, 3 Doors Down, Billy Talent , 30 Seconds To Mars, Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains), The Guess Who, Train, Collective Soul, Our Lady Peace, and many others.
Collectively as a newly formed band, VanScott has had the privilege of more recently sharing the stage with the likes of 54 40 and Honeymoon Suite. VanScott's debut single entitled "Thief of Time" was recorded by veteran producer Duane Baron (Ozzy Ozbourne, Brian Adams, Buck Cherry, Motley Crue) and mixed by Stu Young (Guns and Roses, Prince, Sum 41) and Nick Blagona (Green Day, The Foo fighters). Songs included on VanScott's forthcoming record were recorded in various studios from Randy Bachman (The Guess Who, B.T.O) in British Columbia, to Metalworks Studio in Toronto, to the Jungle Room in Atlanta, Georgia and to the Banyan Tree Studios in Hollywood, California.
